PROSECCO SUPERIORE DOCG with special guest Alan Tardi
There’s much more to the quintessential Italian bubbly than most people are aware. This seminar will show what distinguishes Prosecco DOCG of Conegliano Valdobbiadene from Prosecco DOC. And we’ll taste the difference with a lineup of uncommon Proseccos – including single-village designations and rare indigenous grape varieties – that will change the way you think about the world’s most popular sparkling wine.
Alan Tardi first got interested in wine while working as a cook, chef and restaurateur in New York City. As a freelance journalist, he has written numerous articles for publications including The New York Times, The Wine Spectator, Decanter, Sommelier Journal and Wine & Spirits Magazine. In 2009, he began frequenting the Conegliano Valdobbiadene region in Italy. After getting to know many winemakers, as well as principals of the governing Consortium, Alan was named the first-ever US Ambassador of Conegliano Valdobbiadene in 2015.
This is a Level 1 introductory course for beginners and enthusiasts. It assumes some exposure to wine but little formal wine knowledge. This program is appropriate for both consumers and professionals in all wine, food, hospitality and service industries.
At the Boston Wine School, we are a 100% Wine Snob Free Zone. We believe that learning about wine involves learning about yourself, and we promise to challenge all our students to do that. Our goal is to help you understand deeply and communicate completely what you are experiencing when you are enjoying a glass of wine or a morsel of food.
Guests, students and certificate candidates must meet the legal minimum age for the retail purchase of alcoholic beverages in the country where the program is being held: 21 in the USA and 18 in China.
