Flavio Lira is the true definition of a versatile musician. A bass player, of both acoustic and electric, as well as a 7-string guitar player, he also works as a composer, arranger and producer. He is currently working with several different groups and playing a wide variety of musical styles, such as samba, cuban music, choro and jazz.
Currently based in Boston-USA, Flavio Lira is attending Berklee College of Music with a scholarship in the Bass Performance major.
In less than one year, Flavio has been active in the New England and East Coast music scene, with performances in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey states.
Notable names include Brazilian stars Dudu Nobre (May ‘14) and Leandro Lehart (June ‘14). As a part of the ‘Franky Rodriguez y Homenage a La Salsa Group’, he has played with salsa stars Hector Tricoche (April-June ‘14), Wilmer Lozano (May ‘14), Michel "El Buenon" (June ‘14) and Ray de La Paz.
Flavio Lira is also the co-founder of ChoroBop Trio, a Brazilian and contemporary music trio that has performed at Blue Note in NYC, Boston Symphony Hall as well as other venues in the Boston area.
