Unlimited Perception was born in 2012 as a community of artists and creators hailing from different parts of the world: Turkey, Israel, Colombia and Japan. The collaboration between them started while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. This generated a harmonious, eclectic and earthy sound due to their respective diverse backgrounds. Their music features a blend of South American rhythms such as Bambuco and Cumbia with microtones and lyrical melodies. The band emphasizes the elements of improvisation and musical conversation during their performances, which invites the listener to an exciting experience.
They were recently featured in the first issue of Middle Gray Magazine. We sat down with them for an interview where we talked about their music and their views on spirituality, improvisation and live performance. For our first video blog feature we're presenting you excerpts from our conversation with them, as well as selected footage from some of their recent live performances.
If you're in the Boston area we would also like to invite to the release concert for Unlimited Perception's album "Awakening". It will happen at Ryles Jazz Club (212 Hampshire St, Cambridge, MA) on Wednesday Aug. 21st at 8:30pm. Come experience these amazing musicians live and help support a wonderful group of artists. First 20 guests to arrive will receive the album free of charge!
